Operation Clean Out My Closet (Day 19)

Getting dressed today was a good news/bad news type of situation. The bad news, first: I put on 5 different outfits before I could decide on what I was going to wear.  Needless to say, I was in the closet for a good 25 minutes, which is pretty ridiculous. But the good news: I was able to put 3 things into the giveaway pile after trying them on.  Since the goal of Operation Clean Out My Closet is to get rid of things I don’t wear, don’t like, and/or don’t fit, 5 outfit changes was totally worth it.  I settled on this casual outfit:

The cream tank top (size XS) is from Old Navy. I think I bought this in 2013 but I have only worn this once, so I figured it was a good time to put it into the rotation. It’s hard to see in the picture, but it has silver sequins in sort of an ombre pattern. It’s a little long, but it can be dressed up or down depending on my mood.

Since it is 75 degrees, overcast, and breezy, I decided after trying on a few skirts, that I would wear  the Loft skinny cords (size 25P) to keep my legs somewhat cozy.  I have blogged about these cords a few times, and I really like that they aren’t too heavy for warmer temperatures.

The jean jacket, also from Loft (size XXSP), is a relatively new addition to my wardrobe.  I bought it last fall, but haven’t worn it yet, which is surprising because I bought it to replace my favorite denim jacket from Banana Republic that, at 14 years old, had a large hole in the back.  but then I remembered, I already replaced that jacket, so now I have 2 jean jackets.  Oh, well.

And I am wearing gold flip flips from Banana Republic.  It seemed too hot for boots, although I really should have worn boots with my toe nail polish looking as ragged as it does!  My bad, ya’ll.

Have a great Thursday!

  1. First off, I love the name of your blog. I am super-tall so it is super hard for me to even find clothes. Second, I love that you are trying on outfits and throwing out what you don’t wear. I have such a habit to say “yeah, Ill wear that again in the future” and three years will pass and I will never get rid of some things, lol. Third, I love the outfit your wearing, even though you tried on five outfits before that, you made it seem like you did not even try. It’s amazing.

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so glad you stopped by – thank you! I can definitely understand your frustration finding clothes because my hubs is super tall, as well (6’11”). It has been eye opening seeing how difficult it is for him in all facets of life. Not only does he draw attention to himself every time he walks in a room (not to mention all the asinine questions ppl ask him about his height), but the world is truly not made for anyone of above-average height.
